My son is really into learning about the 50 states and their capitals so I decided to make a fun little multiple-choice web app quiz for him to practice and learn on his laptop. There are five categories you can choose from: states, capitals, nicknames, abbreviations, and flags. For each category, a state or capital is randomly chosen and you are given four choices to pick your answer. If you answer it correctly, a chime plays and message telling you "GREAT JOB" pops up. If you answer it incorrectly, a buzzer sounds and you are asked to try again.

I used a font called StateFace and jQuery to display a "picture" of the state being asked about in each question. The score for the session is kept track with sessionStorage. A congratulatory message appears for every ten points you accumulate.
